
Tennis star Boris Becker married girlfriend Sharlely “Lilly” Kerssenberg in St. Moritz, Switzerland on Friday. The wedding took place in a beautiful mountain chapel in front of 200 of their family and friends. The bride was walked down the aisle by her grandmother, Esseline Kerssenberg-Bradley.
A civil ceremony was held earlier that day in German, English and Swiss-German.
Becker spoke of the civil ceremony to German television station RTL: “The Justice of the Peace performed the ceremony in such an emotional way that I really had to cry.”
And Becker wasn’t the only one in tears. Kerssenberg admitted, “I already started crying in the car.”
This is the second marriage for both.
During a recent appearance on the German show, Wetten, dass…?Tennis star Boris Becker announced that he and on-again, off-again girlfriend Sharlely “Lilly” Kerssenberg have gotten engaged and will be getting married on June 12th of this year.
“We’ve been together for nearly four years and had our ups and downs. … Last summer I lost my way, but she took me back again,” Boris said when discussing the recent development in the relationship.
For those of you not in the know, Boris “lost” his way by proposing to Alessandra “Sandy” Meyer-Woelden, the daughter of his late manager, Axel Meyer-Woelden. The two were engaged for three months.
Boris and Lilly are planning on getting married at St. Moritz, Switzerland, where they announced in January that they were once again a couple.
